Most Beautiful Shots from Houseki no Kuni
Переглядів 332 тис.6 років тому
Sometimes, it can be difficult to appreciate the cinematography of a show/film when watching it, especially if the story itself is engaging enough for us to forget to pay clear attention to the visuals we're seeing. So in respect of Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous) and its gorgeous aesthetic, I put together my favorite shots of the film in isolated form. No voice over, no deconstruction; ...

Why Konosuba's Music is so Funny

You can support this channel on: www.patreon.com/RCAnime Music in comedic anime, movies, etc. have barely been tested to the limits; normally they stay within the the safe genre of "quirky sounds." How Switching Directors Changed The Monogatari Series
Переглядів 80 тис.7 років тому
You can support this channel on: www.patreon.com/RCAnime One of the major misconceptions of The Monogatari Series (or any other recent Shaft show for that matter) is that it's been helmed by one director, Akiyuki Shinbo. Problem is, Shinbo isn't the director of any of it. Instead it's work of Tatsuya Oishi and Tomoyuki Itamura. So today let's look at how Oishi and Itamura handle Monogatari in t...

how do you know "his" animators are improvising??? , after all in animation everything has to be set up inthe storyboards, maybe at rough animations they could "improvise" somethong but what exactly? I dont understand exactly what you mean by sponteaneous , In animation everthing as to be calculated to get to the deadline. I dooo love to understan it much better cus yuasa mind works sooo different but improvising doesnt sounds something that reflects yuasa or science saru does.

The way in which Kyoani operates isn't "revolutionary" at all. Quite the contrary: in the grand scheme of history, the way in which Kyoani operates is *counterrevolutionary*. This is a very good and moral thing.

Elves being jaded because they live longer is a very human perspective. Both LOTR and Frieren only work from human perception of time. To us, our lifespan seems short, but actually it's a lot longer than cats or dogs that live no longer than 20 years. Or mayflies that live only a day if you don't count their larvae form. We live way way longer. Our accomplishments have nothing to do with our short lifespan, or mayflies would already start colonizing the galaxy. I think if long living lifeforms like elves existed, they'd also think their time as just as short as ours. But I'm only human, so that's also a human perspective.

Hey, I really liked your analysis of Frieren, it felt like you have more to add to the conversation than a good chunk of all the video essays coming out about it. But the mispronunciation of the names really took a toll on what was clearly a thoughtful and well researched video.

Is there any evidence that Middle-earth is an influence? I wouldn't doubt that it figures in there somewhere, but Middle-earth is so influential on other fantasy that it could be a distant echo. Personally, I see a great deal of D&D influence, and that is only partially influenced by Middle-earth.

After i finished this anime, i think i know why humans didn't live long. Humans are just full of emotion. And that will be so freaking exhausting for us humans to live so looooong with so many emotions we feel. Unlike Frieren, an elf that feels less emotions.
